The Fondation Internationale du Développement du Tir à l’Arc – FIDTA – was established in 2009 to drive the development of archery around the world. It supports development initiatives in member federations, regional schemes, and funds development staff, as well as leading the World Archery Excellence Centre project.
FIDTA is an independent foundation, coordinated alongside World Archery, and led by a board that directs its support to projects that invest in the future of the sport of archery.
The centre in Lausanne was a key dream of FIDTA founder, World Archery Honorary President and former IOC Executive Board Member Jim Easton. It will become a hub for excellence and improvement for archers, coaches, judges and officials, key to World Archery’s vision of giving everybody the opportunity to make the important Olympic sport of archery their activity of choice.
